5 Common Questions about Drug Rehab
More often than not, the majority of the potential clients that reach out to us have a slew of questions regarding what they can expect when they come to a facility for drug addiction recovery. One of the things that makes Pacific Manor one of the best drug treatment facilities in the area is the fact that we’re always happy to take the time to address the questions or concerns that our clients may have regarding what they can expect when they come for treatment.
Taking your first step toward recovery care is a huge one and it’s often scary. It’s important to remember that addiction is a disease and, as a result, once that addiction takes hold it’s possible that it may lead you to think about things in a way that is skewed or distorted. At Pacific Manor, we focus on providing our clients with a better understanding of the concept of addiction and how to cope with what they are feeling both during the time that they are at our facility and long after.
Is My Addiction Bad Enough to Need Professional Help?
The question of whether or not it’s time for you to reach out to an addiction expert for professional help is often the hardest and most challenging aspect of addiction recovery. When you have come to a place in your life where your addiction has taken over every part of your life, you have no choice but to reach out to someone else for guidance. Many people mistakenly view this step as a sign of weakness which is part of the reason why they wait so long for them to reach out for help. Here are some important considerations that you should think about when making the decision as to whether or not your addiction is bad enough for you to seek professional help:
- If your addiction has caused you to feel as though you’ve lost all control of your life, you should definitely get in touch with us as soon as possible. This is one of the biggest signs that you may be struggling with an addiction. Once you have lost that control, other things that were once important to you basically lose their importance which could put you in a position of spiraling even deeper into addiction.
- Is your current job in jeopardy because you aren’t able to perform your tasks accurately and efficiently because you’re either hungover or under the influence of your drug of choice? If the answer is yes, then this is a clear indicator that you need addiction treatment.
- Sadly, many people that struggle with addiction also suffer from serious health problems as a direct result of their addiction. When you come to our treatment center, we have a team of experienced individuals who will closely monitor you physically to ensure that you remain in the best health possible as you begin to transition through your treatment program.
How Long Does Drug Treatment Take?
The length of time that you spend in treatment will be a personal choice that you will need to make. Of course, this is not a decision that you need to make alone when you decide to come to Pacific Manor. Our recovery programs last anywhere between 30 and 90-days. Keep in mind that if you decide that you would like to begin with a 30-day program and extend it to a 60 or 90-day program, we can make this adjustment for you at any time.
Remember, depending on your drug of choice or the severity of your addiction, it may be prudent for you to begin your recovery journey in our detox program. Detox gives you the opportunity to begin to heal from the physical impact that you may feel within the first few hours and days of your recovery. For example, many people are unaware of the fact that withdrawal symptoms can set in mere hours from the last time they consumed their preferred drug. We never recommend that you attempt to go through the detox process alone. Instead, we strongly recommend that you allow our team to care for you during this critical time in your recovery journey to ensure that you’re never put in a situation that could be potentially deadly.
Will I Receive Individual Therapy During Rehab?
The answer to whether or not you will receive individual therapy during the time that you’re in rehab is unequivocally yes. There are several different reasons for this. First and foremost, as addiction experts, we understand that there may be many aspects of your life that you don’t yet feel comfortable sharing with other people in a group setting. However, it’s critical for the overall recovery that you feel as though you have a safe place to talk about these events.
During individual therapy, you will speak personally with a member of our team regarding a multitude of possible issues. For example, it’s essential that you feel calm and at ease throughout the course of your treatment program. One of the major things that we will consistently check in with you about is how you feel your treatment plan is progressing. Regardless of whether you opt to work through an inpatient program or an outpatient one, you can count on the fact that special time will be set aside for you to meet individually with our team.
Is There Family Involvement During the Addiction Recovery Process?
Sadly, there are many people that overlook the important role that families play during the recovery process. Instead of keeping their family looped into the incredible steps that they are taking in their recovery, they keep their family at an arm’s length. This could be a mistake when it comes to long-term sobriety. Often, when a person has the love and support of their family members, they feel all the more encouraged to continue on in their recovery journey.
Keep in mind that it’s essential that you make the decision as to what family members to include in your recovery plans carefully. Unfortunately, there are several clients that have family members that simply don’t believe that addiction is a disease or who may be struggling with their own addiction issues. We will encourage your family to interact with both you and our team so that you can still receive the help and support that you need without putting any recovery progress that you have made in jeopardy.
What is the Best Type of Addiction Treatment for Me?
It’s important that you take the time to decide the best addiction treatment program for you based on your circumstances. When possible, we will always recommend that you consider working through an inpatient program simply because it provides you with the care that you may need during this pivotal time in your life. When you come to Pacific Manor for an inpatient program, not only will you have a comfortable and beautiful place to live in throughout the course of your treatment, but you will also have the benefit of 24/7 care from our treatment team. If there is anything that you need or if you simply aren’t feeling yourself on that day, just let us know and we will do everything that we can to support you and give you the reassurances that you need to show you that you’re on the right path.
We also recognize the fact that not every client can commit to an inpatient program which is why we have taken time to develop our outpatient program. An outpatient program is a perfect solution for a client that may be going to school or have a job but still needs assistance in overcoming their addiction issues. When you initially reach out to us, we will take the time to learn more about your schedule so that we can help you to put together a treatment plan that will not negatively impact these important responsibilities in your life.
There are several factors that will play into the specifics of your treatment plan. For example, if you’re also struggling with a mental illness, then you may be more well-suited for our dual diagnosis program. We can also provide you with options to participate in group therapy or trauma-based therapies so that you can accurately identify the root cause of your addiction.
